Lead Web Developer

Main Purpose of the Role
Manage a small team of Web / User Experience developers working on delivering innovative web projects that push the boundaries.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their needs and discuss technical solutions
- Maintain regular communication with clients
- Seek out new and innovative opportunities to integrate with partners and maximize revenue opportunities
- Manage an internal team and external suppliers
- Build and maintain a variety websites using various web technologies
- Administer and manage Windows and Linux servers with SQL databases and multiple mySQL databases
- Ensure server backups are in place for data recovery
- Configure and maintain the companies email system
Other Duties and tasks
- Maintain an understanding of current web technologies and programming practices through reading and participation in professional conferences, workshops or groups
- Good understanding of on-site SEO
- Purchasing and setting up domains and DNS
- Bug fixes for websites and web apps
- Training clients on how to use different CMS systems and other web apps
- Guide the team on how to create and design websites based on the latest web standards
Decision Making/ Freedom to Act
Take responsibility for project risks and issues
Work in association with the Creative Design manager to encourage a culture of mutuality between the two areas of business
Supervision of Others
You will manage the web / user experience development team within the office and help support them when required.

Person Specification:
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years commercial experience working on demanding projects with user experience focus with good working knowledge of the following:
- HTML
- CSS
- W3C Knowledge
- Wireframes, sitemaps and workflows
- PHP
- SQL Server 2008 (Management, SQL, stored procedures)
- IIS7 7 (Management and configuration)
- Javascript libraries
- Google Analytics
- WordPress
- Coda
- Dreamweaver
- Photoshop
Skills and Personal Qualities:
- Strong planning and organisation skills
- Ability to manage a complex workload
- Experience of managing supervising people
- Have excellent communication and negotiation skills, both in person and written
- Interested in technology and advancing their technical skills
- Pro-active nature and an active contributor to technical discussions
- High levels of flexibility in terms of working hours and practices
- Meet demanding customer needs and service level expectations
